Rewilding Neurodiversity

4 day residential wild nature retreat. Soul reclaiming work for ASD, ADHD & AuDHD people

IN PERSON nature based journey of Soul work designed specifically for people who are either Autistic, ADHD or AuDhd, who are wanting to live a more authentic, empowered, neurodivergent spiritually aligned joyful life.

An animistic future/ancient sacred appraoch to neurodiversity

If we go back beyond our modern society’s constructs (and still true in indigenous cultures today) Neurodivergent people were the one’s who kept the collective consciousness of the village awake, aligned and in harmony. They were and are naturally more connected to the sacred, to spirit. They were respected and valued and equal in community and society. Neurodivergent people were the one’s who naturally have a strong connection to that which exists beyond the ‘normal world’. An ability to experience, sense and connect with spirit directly.

Neurodivergent people are only a ‘problem’ when modern society insist that we live and function inside specific (and quite limited) ways and these ways are not designed for the neurodivergent soul. Our modern societies have stripped out diversity from the human species, just like we have done with nature: ‘anything that does not fit the aspirations of success in a Capital growth society must either be killed or made to adapt to be allowed to stay’.

We need to stop making neurodivergent people the problem and instead start recognising that it’s modern life and the societal structures that are the real source of the problem ? If we look at neurodivergent traits, they only become challenging or problematic when they try to fit into a neuotypicaly societal structure set up. They are not a problem in and of themselves – they only become a problem when they try to function and relate inside a structure that was not designed for them.

For our deep time ancestors, neurodivergent people where the seers, the mystics, poets, healers, shamans, psychics, and the truth speakers. Now they are seen as the fuck-up’s that need to be medicated, pathologized, shamed, marginalised and told to change our ways and just try harder.

Not everyone was meant to be able to do everything ! that’s a modern artificial construct that support consumerism and control of the workers. Back with our deep time ancestors, interdependence was how we survived and thrived and no-one lived in isolation in hyper independence. If one person was a Seer but struggled to chop their wood – not a problem – we need the Seer in the community and the person who’s amazing at chopping wood is also loving their life !! Everyone is happy and everyone belongs.

Every neurodivergent person has a gift to bring to the world and one that is needed in order to returning us to a truly diverse life with all that is. But when we live inside a society that aspires to everyone being able to do everything and only certain gifts being of valued it can be very difficult as a neurodivergent person to find a place in it all.

If each of us was existing within our optimum environment, one that supports us to really thrive we would soon find our gifts and thrive in bringing them. If you put an oak tree in the Sahara desert it won’t survive anymore than in you put a cactus in a welsh forest. It’s like we are saying that because the oak tree can’t survive in the desert it’s the tree that is the problem. It’s ridiculous and we know it. We would never expect an Oak tree to survive in a desert and would not force it to try. Yet when it comes to neurodivergent souls we seem to not quite of grasped this.

Neurodivergent people are having a response to modern life that is actually more natural and right, as in we are not meant to be living in a society where our senses are so bombarded. We are not meant to be around hundreds of humans everyday. We are not meant to live under artificial light 24 hours of the time. We are not meant to sit for 8 hours in a day looking at a 2d screen. We are not meant to eat ultra processed food. We are not meant to be able to do everything ourselves, and so the list goes on. It’s an intelligent response that refuses to adapt to the insanity of our modern world. I for one think we need to listen to these intelligent responses and celebrate them and change the way we all live on our beautiful Earth.

The positives of being neurodivergent is a vast array. Most of them sit inside the qualities associated with values and skills and connections which sit outside what modern society values. This is what needs to change and it is why I offer this course..
So rather than supporting neurodivergent people to adapt better to this broken society, let’s instead support them to be who they are and bring their gifts because their gifts are really needed at this time on earth. Thats what I’m here for.
“It is no measure of success to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti.

What is Rewilding Neurodiversity about ?

Neurodivergent people need spaces where they can learn how to let their wings open and feel confident to live their true selves. This is powerful medicine on its own when neurodivergent people come together to support each other to do the same it becomes an alchemical cauldron of transformation. Our voices, talents and gifts are needed in the world. This is what Rewilding Neurodiversity is about. It is a space to heal the harms from before and to practice how to be our full unmasked selves. We have been silenced long enough ! On our own the silence is harder to change and our lives stay smaller than we want them to be.

“I have seen over and over again the healing that happens when a circle of neurodivergent people come together and show up unmasked. It is quite something to experience; empowering, healing, inspiring and strengthening”

The starting place for many neurodivergents, is often an experience of a thousand light bulbs switching on as you see clearly the whole thing. Then the experience of having someone listen and empathise brings tears of relief as your whole life suddenly make sense. Then comes the grief of all the missed opportunities. This pain runs deep and it needs to be integrated in order to be able to fully live our true soul self without apology and in total joy of who we are. If this is you, or you are further along the path cauldron of illuminations, this is a space that needs all of us.

No two humans the same, and this is also true for neurodivergent people. Listening with an open heart is the pathway to healing. Our journey is to get curious about ourselves and others so we can widen our lens of understanding and care.

this 4-day retreat may hold deep gifts for your journey…

“I discovered so many more things about myself today just by listening to other’s talk about their quirks… I came away with an encyclopaedia of more understanding… I feel so differently about myself in the best possible way…”

The healing power of coming together

This retreat is about liberating ourselves from the hurt of a lifetime of being misunderstood, judged and shamed for being who we are. A lifetime of 10,000 tiny rejections and judgements delivered in a myriad of ways, both covert and overt, over many decades starting in childhood. These hurts sit in our bodies, hearts and minds.

There is deep healing in coming together, too. Sharing our stories and experiencing the power of empathy from others can crack our hearts open in a way that we have not been able to reach… this alone heals so much because it has been such a huge missing piece in the story. It’s not where the story ends but it brings courage and strength to make the changes we long for in living a life that is truly free from shame.

This is a space for experiencing authentic, genuine understanding and empathy for the struggles that have been, and still can be challenging to navigate. We will gather and really see each other. Can you imagine being in a circle of people who delight in you and want to see your gifts lived? This is what can happen when we come together and it’s magical to witness. To see the healing unfold in each person as they shine like the sun and light up rooms with thier unique essence.

“..wow…that was like nothing I have ever experienced before…this changes everything, it was so much more than I thought it would be. I can’t thank you enough…

My own Journey

HOW IT ALL UNFOLDED
I have been on my own journey of self-discovery in relation to my own AuDHD which I have had since birth. It has been passed down through both my mother’s and my father’s lineage, and my daughter is also AuDHD. I have spent a lifetime living outside of conventional society in part due to being a deeply spiritual, animistic nature-based soul that has always preferred living close to the land and to the Mystery and being embedded within the natural world, but also because, I could not fit myself inside the rules laid down by society. I struggled endlessly for decades, in countless ways, and it is only in the past 8 years that I have come to understand why some of how I am is due to what conventional mainstream society would call AuDHD. I fiercely rejected being labelled, boxed, and pushed them away for many years. However, in my journey of enquiry, I came to see that for a time these labels have been useful, not least as they helped with research as one can search terms online to find out more.

THE CLINICAL LENS
There is much on offer for autism and AuDHD in the mainstream through a clinical lens… the lens that sees us as broken and needing to be fixed and changed so that we can better ‘fit in’ and follow the rules of conventional society. We end up having to squash many aspects of ourselves down in order to succeed with that.
I for one, have no desire to do this and my work is offered to women who also wish to deepen their relationship to themselves as being neurodiverse through the lens of a spiritual and soul based being, and how to bring forth their gifts to the world, and feel authentic and resourced in that.

I believe with a passion from over 30 years of work with women, that when women come together basically anything is possible. My intention in birthing this body of work is to slowly build a network of kindred spirits and to change the narrative, change culture and arrive at a place where we are honoured and needed in our world for the work we do and how we do it.

In recent years, as I have been more vocal on social media about my own journey, and with hundreds of requests from women who know my work, there’s been a call to put my 30 years of experience as a space-holder and spiritual guide into helping and supporting others who are autistic / AuDHD. Finally I feel the call is too strong to not open up the pathway.

I am an Animist. A seer. A healer. A truth teller. A heart that can hear and can champion people to be their fullest selves at this time on earth.

If this calls to you, please join me.

“..I am sitting here with tears as I think about the workshop. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so empathised with about being ADHD. I feel my life changed in some way today that I don’t yet get but I know it’s profound..”

You do not need an official diagnosis to join !

This is not a medical, clinical or educational day for learning about symptoms or theories through a clinical lens. If you would like to learn more about that, then I recommend deepening that enquiry in all the way you can, through online research and by connecting with other women who are further along the path of understanding to you.

It is designed for people who are Autistic, ADHD or Audhd (either diagnosed or self identified but, know yourself enough to know) who already have some understanding about ‘their’ Autism, ADHD / AuDHD and are ready to explore a deeper enquiry of how to fully live in this world and bring your gifts.

I am inviting people who are open to exploring or who already believe that this is not a diagnosis to be ‘fixed’ but a way in which spirit works through you.
